Where We Came From
Chaos Softball was established in 2009 by coach, Rick Dunavin.  With well over a decade under his belt coaching softball, Rick's passion is sharing his love of the game with others.  The purpose of our team was, and always has been, to give girls the opportunity to play softball.  We started with a bunch of 13-15 year old girls who just wanted to play more competitive ball.  Our goal was to provide an affordable option to do that and still leave some time for other things in life.  We had this crazy notion that you should be able to love competitive softball and have time to take a family vacation (and sleep).  We had an even crazier notion that maybe, just maybe, a summer of softball should cost less than your kid's college tuition.  Hard to imagine, right?  Granted, that meant going without some of the vital necessities like matching bat bags and monogrammed Under Armour, but somehow, we've found a way to muddle through.

It was an uphill climb getting that first team started.  We didn’t win a single game that first season.  In fact, we got pummeled.  Our girls had never played such highly competitive teams, and it was an eye opener for them.  But they had grown into a tight knit group, had each other's back, and grew as a team.  They stayed together, and were soon competing like we knew they could, impressing everyone by starting to put some wins in the book, placing at tournaments and even winning district championships.  In 2013, they played their final season together.  Many of them were going off to college, and there weren’t going to be enough to play.  We thought that we were done, but just couldn’t stay away!  2016 has been a great rebuilding season for us, and things are looking very positive for 2017!  We’ve grown now from a single high school aged team to adding a 10’s, 12’s and 14’s age group to our Chaos family!

What We Stand For
We stand for teamwork and sportsmanship and loyalty and family.  Most of all, we stand for tenacity...never giving up, even when things get rough.  Our coaches are here to help players get better and continue to love to play the game and compete.  If our players end the season better players than they started, our coaches and players did their job.  We are here to compete, and we expect every player to give 110% to win.  But we want players to remember why they started playing the game in the first place.  Win or lose, you should never lose the love of the competition, the love for the game.

Players take away a lot from this game beyond what's on the scoreboard.  Beyond the lifelong friendships built, it teaches them character, work ethic, teamwork, drive, humility, sacrifice, loyalty, respect for themselves and each other, and so, so much more.  Our coaches don’t just help to build players.  They also help to build future adults.  Many of our players will play high school ball.  Some will play college ball.  A few may even pursue careers related to softball.  But ALL of them will grow up to benefit from the life lessons they learned by taking part in team sports.
